September 4, 2008

I will start posting soon... God is moving and I will share as soon as we get to the hotel near Tampa. Please continue to pray. Pray specifically that Mike will be able to eat without the gas pains and reflux. Pray for peaceful sleep. Pray for safe travel. Pray that I will be able to handle all the information...

To all our beloved friends and family - you have blessed us beyond measure with the emails, calls, prayers. This is our journey with cancer. No matter what, God will be glorified through it!

Mike and Deanna,
Your friends, and there are many throughout our Air Force and the many communities you have touched, are all praying for all of you. You have touched each of us and given us so much, and the time has come for us to pick up where you have temporarily left off, as we know that both of you have a new mission.

As you travel, may our Lord guide your path and those around you so that your arrival be safe. Mike, as you begin your treatment know that at your side and all around the world you have wingmen who are ready to lend a hand.
Deanna, you have been the rock of stability, at home and for our airmen families, you never once allowed another to go without...please allow us in some form or fashion to be your rock when the time comes, know that we are at the ready.

May the good Lord be your continued source of strength and show you his power and his compassion. May your journey be guided with the strong hand of your faith.

Our prayers are with our always,
The Rodriguez's (Rico, Trish, Amanda and Cesar III)

I've been praying and will continue to do so. I am thrilled to see your blog...one of the things on my mental list today was "email Deanna". I've subscribed to it and so I will know whenever you post. Know I'll be watching...and still praying.

Love to you all...

-Lisa

Deanna, Mike, and Elizabeth,
I love you all so much and know that the Lord is with you even know in a darker hour. As I pray for you I picture the three of you sitting in His lap as He wraps His arms of love and comfort around you and whispers that it is alright and He is faithful. He will be faithful to walk with you through it all and in the end be glorified. You are in my heart and on my mind all day. Know I am sending my most fervent prayers up for you sweet sister.
I love you all.

A prayer from my devos this morning-

"I praise You for Your sovereignty over the events of our lives and over the details. With You nothing is accidental, nothing is incidental, and no experience is wasted. You hold in Your own power our breath of life and our destiny. Every trial that You allow to happen is a platform on which You reveal Yourself, showing Your love and power, to us and those looking on. Thankyou that we can move into the future nondefensively, with hands outstretched to whatever lies ahead, for You hold the future and You will ALWAYS be with us."

Standing with you in prayer!
Patti

Mike, Deanna, and Biffers,

You know where I stand. No more tears, sadness, or dispare. It's time to kick this in the ass! Today is Friday, a new day, a good day because it's another day. Is today going to be fun? No. Is today going to be hard? Yes. Is today going to bring more mental challanges than one should have to deal with? Yes. Are you all together today fighting the biggest fight of your life? Yes! So in the end it's a GREAT DAY!

You guys have faced every challange that has been presented to you and won. This will be no different. Work hard today and tomorrw will come. When tomorrow arrives guess what, it will be a GREAT DAY!

Deanna,
As I was reading one of my favorite books to the kids this morning, "Hinds' Feet on High Places", the main character quoted this verse and I couldn't help but think of you guys.

"This is not unto death, but for the glory of God" John 11:4

You have already blessed me so much. I know that, no matter what, you and your family are going to bring glory to your heavenly father as you walk this road of cancer. Although I am sorrowful over Mike's diagnosis, I am excited to see how God works through you all and am blessed by your attitude of "acceptance with joy".

Love,
Missy

Deanna, Mike, and Elizabeth-
Rob and I will believe for a miraculous healing and peace to surround you. I pray that you, Elizabeth, and Mike continue to gain the daily physical and spiritual strength to stand together to pray, fight and believe for good to come from this trial. Deanna- May you stand strong and be a pillar for Mike and Elizabeth to lean on.
I encourage you to read Mark 9:14-29. Especially look at vs 23: All things are possible to him who believes. And vs 24: Lord, I believe; help my unbelief. Remember that God is in control and that He has not given us a spirit of fear but of power, love and a sound mind.
Let us know if we can do anything. No request is too big or too small. We commit to pray daily for you.
All my quiet love-
Amy

Dear Elizabeth,
Hi! It's Rachel and I was just telling my mom about how we would try to do cartwheels and play dolphins in your backyard. Remember how we named our scooters? I'm praying for you and what your going through and I hope your dad feels better. I miss you.
Love,
Rachel Gray

Hey Mike--the Hyssop plant was also offered to Jesus on the cross (John 19:9) in His time of Suffering. May it also be a blessing to you. We are thinking and praying for you, Elizabeth, and Deanna.

Hello Igor,
The Bonemen are all checking in on email, sending out their support, strength, and love to you, Deanna, and Elizabeth. You literally have an armada of friends and loved ones praying for and thinking of you all daily! You may want to make sure someone is taking in your mail for you while you're down in Sarasota. Your mailbox is probably gonna get clobbered if it hasn't already! We love you guys. Romans 8:28.
